Board-Certified in Venous & Lymphatic Medicine

The letters DABVLM after Dr. Tadepalli’s name mean board certification in the specialty of vein disease itself, held in addition to his board certification in internal medicine. It is the credential that tells you a physician has been examined specifically on the diagnosis and treatment of venous and lymphatic disorders.

The American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM) was founded in 2007, originally as the American Board of Phlebology, to set and uphold rigorous standards for physicians who specialize in this field, at a time when many doctors treating veins had no formal training in it. In the board’s own words, certification “validates a physician’s specialized knowledge and up-to-date clinical skills in venous and lymphatic medicine.”

Earning it is not automatic. A physician must already be board-certified in a primary specialty, have completed an accredited residency, document substantial recent experience in venous ultrasound and venous treatment, complete venous-specific continuing education, and pass the board’s certification examination. Keeping it requires quarterly learning assessments and continuing education in every two-year cycle, so the standard is met year after year, not once.

What this means for you is simple: the physician who maps your veins, explains your findings, and performs your procedure holds the certification dedicated to exactly that work.

Dr. Tadepalli's background spans hospital medicine and physician education, training that demands rigor, careful judgment, and the habit of explaining complex medicine in plain language. Patients at Avancé benefit from both.

Why Vein Medicine

Vein disease sits in a quiet gap of medicine. Millions of people live with aching, heavy, swollen legs, symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins, and many are told for years that it is cosmetic, or simply part of getting older. It usually isn't. Modern vein care is precise, office-based, and remarkably gentle: treatments are outpatient, with local anesthesia when appropriate. The time in the office and return to normal activities depend on your treatment.

Dr. Tadepalli built Avancé Vein Care around that reality, a focused practice where vein disease is diagnosed properly, explained honestly, and treated with the full range of modern techniques, from radiofrequency ablation to VenaSeal™ and Varithena®.

Our Practice Philosophy

Avancé Vein Care is deliberately physician-led. Dr. Tadepalli personally performs:

Just as important is how things are explained. You will hear your findings in plain language: what the ultrasound showed, which options fit your anatomy, what insurance typically covers, and what happens if you choose to wait. No pressure, no upselling, no unnecessary procedures.

"My promise is simple: the doctor you meet at your consultation is the doctor who performs your ultrasound, your procedure, and your follow-up. Nothing about your care is handed off."Dr. Satish Tadepalli, MD, MPH, DABVLM

What Your First Visit Looks Like

A consultation at Avancé begins with a conversation, not a scan. Dr. Tadepalli listens to your symptoms and history, examines your legs, and then performs a duplex ultrasound himself, a painless scan that maps how blood is actually moving through your veins.

Before you leave, you will understand exactly what was found and what it means. If treatment makes sense, he will walk you through the options that fit your anatomy, whether that is laser ablation, radiofrequency, foam, or adhesive, along with realistic expectations and recovery. Every option offered is office-based, uses local anesthesia, and gets you with activity and recovery instructions tailored to your care. If treatment is not needed, he will tell you that too.
